Bold Baby Card!

This was supposed to be my second card for Monday's Clean and Simple Card Challenge......but I used RED instead of pinks or corals. Doh! Well, I LOVE it! Since I finally figured out how to emboss/deboss with my nestibilities, I thought it would look great with the star!

Man Cards - More

The first two cards I came up with were quite plain, and I thought adding some color might be fun! This card is my least favorite of the four, but oh well.

Stamps: Simple Friendship, Lots of Thoughts (Stampin' Up!)
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Paper: Ivory (Unknown), More Mustard, Real Rust, Chocolate Chip, Always Artichoke (Stampin' Up!)
Accessories: Dimensionals, Butterfly Punch

This one is my favorite! I love "Lovely As A Tree" and it always makes a good card! I'm guessing they will choose this card for me to make 50 of!

Stamps: Lovely As A Tree, Wonderful Words (Stampin' Up!)
Ink: Always Artichoke
Paper: Ivory (Unknown), More Mustard, Real Rust, Chocolate Chip, Always Artichoke (Stampin' Up!)

Man Cards!!!

Well, I had a request from a friend and co-worker to create some invitations to celebrate that fact that he and his partner are now registered with the state as a couple. SO, not only did they have to be man cards, they have be appropriate for a diverse audience! Geez, what a challenge. This was the first card I came up with.

Stamps: Pocket Silhouettes, Lots of Thoughts (Stampin'Up!)
Paper: White, Mellow Moss, Basic Black (Stampin' Up!)
Ink: Basic Black, Mellow Moss
Accessories: Big Shot, Embossing Folder, Ribbon, Dimensionals

This was the second card I came up with. They like earth tones, so I thought Kraft and Chocolate Chip would be a nice combination. It seemed too plain without the embossed base.
Stamps: Wheat (Judikins), Lots of Thoughts (Stampin' Up!)
Paper: Kraft, Chocolate Chip (Stampin' Up!)
Ink: Craft Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Dimensionals, Big Shot, Embossing Folder

Monochromatic Hologram Wedding Card

This card was created for Sunday's Featured Stamper Challenge on SplitCoast. This is the card that I based mine on: Kisa's Card

Supplies:
Stamps: For The Bride (Stampin' UP!)
Ink: Craft Ivory (Stampin' UP!)
Paper: Ivory
Accessories: Big Shot, Swiss Dots Embossing Folder, Ribbon, Nestibilities, Paper Piercing Tool, Dimensionals

Color Challenge

The Color Challenge is always one that is really difficult for me. I usually can't figure out a way to use all of the colors to come up with a decent card. Well, this stamp was perfect for today's colors - Perfect Plum, Pink Pirouette, and Old Olive.
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Essence of Love
Ink: None
Cardstock: White, Perfect Plum
Other Supplies: SU Markers, Punches, Piercing Tool, Nestibilities, Ribbon, Big Shot, Embossing Folder, Dimensionals

Cut-it Out Technique

Well....I was too excited to concentrate on the Cut-It Out technique on Monday because of the Spellbinders announcement, but wanted to give it a try today. I found this wonderful Designer paper in a tablet by K & Company, and thought it would be perfect for this challenge. Nothing fancy, just cutting, piercing, punching, and a tiny bit of stamping.
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Pocket Silhouettes
Ink: True Thyme
Cardstock: True Thyme, River Rock
Other Supplies: K & Company DP, Punches, Dimensionals

BIG NEWS MONDAY!

Oh, my goodness. I haven't been this excited about anything in MANY years. I submitted several items to Spellbinders for their Design Team 2009 contest and found out that I was fortunate enough to be included in the top 24! The official announcement can be found Here. We will all need to complete and submit one more project with items that Spellbinders sends for the final round. Oh, the suspense!

Sundays 4th Card!

I couldn't resist making at least one card with a Valentine's Day theme with one of my favorite color combinations, pink and brown. Since I dug out all sorts of embellishments for my friends to choose from, these metal clips were just screaming to be added to this card. The polka dot ribbon goes great with the Polka Dot background stamp.
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Polka Dot, Mon Ami
Ink: Basic Brown
Cardstock: Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip
Other Supplies: Punches, Metal Clips, Ribbon, Dimensionals

Sunday's 3rd Card!

I was on a roll Sunday with the cardmaking with my friends, which was very fun. I REALLY love the Inspired By Nature stamp set, but wanted a little different look for it. Tent-topper cards are pretty new to me, but I'm really happy with how this turned out. I also inked up the embossing folder to get the darker background with the embossing.
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Inspired By Nature
Ink: Brocade Blue
Cardstock: Brocade Blue, Watercolor Paper, More Mustard
Other Supplies: SU markers, Big Shot, Embossing Folder, Dimensionals, Ribbon

Sunday's Second Card!

This is the second card I made with my friends on Sunday. A person can never have enough Birthday cards on hand, so this will be great to build my stash of cards backup. I used the "kissing" technique for the "B" image with the Aida Cloth Stamp, which I inked up for the first time! I really love the look especially on the larger solid stamps that are difficult to get evenly inked.
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Just B, Aida Cloth
Ink: Brocade Blue, Apricot Appeal
Cardstock: Brocade Blue, White
Other Supplies: Ribbon, Piercing Tool, Dimensionals

Cards & Friends!

A couple of friends came over on Sunday for a fun day of stamping! It's so much more fun to stamp with other people so you they can ooh and aah over each and every card. When people come over to stamp, I usually don't up making anything because I'm bringing supplies to them and helping them with their cards. It was a great day to be able to make 4 cards that I LIKE!

The first card I worked on, I actually stamped and colored the image months ago, but never finished it. It worked wonderfully for the Featured Stamper card that day!
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Stipple Rose, Gratuitous Graffiti
Cardstock: Always Artichoke, Watercolor Paper
Ink: Always Artichoke, Stazon Black
Other Supplies: Ribbon, Charm, Dimensionals, Distressing Tool

Sunglasses Needed!

Oh my! These colors are WAY out of my comfort zone, but it's good to stretch now and then! This is my card for tomorrow's Sketch Challenge on Splitcoast Stampers. Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets: Inspired By Nature (SU)
Ink: Stazon Azure
Cardstock: Brilliant Blue, Certainly Celery
Other Supplies: Ribbon, Buttons, Fabric Sentiment, Dimensionals, Paper Piercing Tool

Lovin' Monochromatic

When I first saw this "Poinsettia & Boxwood" stamp set from Flourishes, I got the idea for this card. Every time I would go to their site, though, this set was sold out. FINALLY, I got my set and made this card. I thought it would be a wonderful wedding or anniversary card. I love monochromatic cards and really like the texture and dimension of this one.
I used an embossing folder for the base, then layered the same paper and hand-embossed the word "love" with a brass stencil and stylus. I stamped the poinsettia twice with versamark and clear embossing powder and cut it out. I added ribbon, pearls, and string pearls to add the finishing touches.
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Poinsettia & Boxwood by Flourishes
Cardstock: Textured Ivory
Ink: Versamark
Other Supplies: Textile Texture Embossing Folder; Big Shot, Ribbon, Pearl Stickers, String pearls, Dimensionals, Brass Stencil, Stylus, Light Table.

New Look

I've been wanting to update my blog for a long time, but didn't know where to get the beautiful backgrounds I see on other people's blogs. Well, I stumbled across this site in the upper left corner and couldn't resist the update. I LOVE the new look!

Ooooooh, A Double Header

I love it when I can figure out how to combine a challenge with one that I missed. Well, today's colors for the Color Challenge (Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy, and Kraft) were great and I was able to come up with a card for tomorrow's Sketch Challenge using these three colors. I also got to ink up my NEW stamp set from Flourishes - Whooo Whooo! The flower is colored with Baja Breeze ink and an aquapainter!

Supplies Used:

Stamps: Thank You (Flourishes)
Ink: Black Stazon, River Rock
Cardstock: Kraft, Not Quite Navy
Other Supplies: Big Shot, Textile Texture Embossing Folder, Punch, Buttons, Dimensionals, Paper Piercing Tool

His and Her Cards

A friend from work and his wife have been wanting to come over and make cards for months, and we finally had a VERY fun card day last weekend. I designed these cards hoping that they would appeal to both of them - it's always difficult to come up with "guy" cards! I really love the pink and brown and blue and brown combinations. I am SOOO loving the silhouette stamps!
Supplies Used:
Stamps: En Francais, Essence of Love, Nature Silhouette
Ink: Stazon Brown
Cardstock: Pink Pirouette or Bashful Blue, Chocolate Chip
Other Supplies: Ribbon, Dimensionals, Brads, Butterfly Punch

CASING Jaydekay!

Today's Featured Stamper on Splitcoast Stampers is Jaydekay, who has an absolutely gorgeous gallery! It was difficult to select a card to CASE, but I am always drawn to texture and dimension so her paper tole card definitely caught my eye. I changed the color combination, embossing folders, used a Sizzix flower die instead of a stamped rose, and added a sentiment.
Supplies used:
Stamps: Circle of Friendship (SU)
Ink: Always Artichoke, So Saffron
Cardstock: Always Artichoke, So Saffron, Mellow Moss
Other Supplies: Big Shot, Embossing Folders, Punches, Sizzix Die Cut, Ribbon, Dimensionals, Distressing Tool

Another "Inspired" Card

I just can't get enough of that Baja Breeze card stock! The Inspiration Challenge from yesterday contained some beautiful Tenugui artwork in the form of calendars. The image that inspired this card and the card posted prior to it, is for the month of June.
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Upsy Daisy, Small Script (SU)
Ink: Versamark
Cardstock: White, Blue Bayou, Baja Breeze, Baja Breeze DP
Other Supplies: Flower Punch, Oval punches, Ribbon, Detail White Embossing Powder, Dimensionals

Tenugui Inspired!

Gosh, it has been awhile since I've made a card! Today's Inspirational Challenge on Splitcoast Stampers was a wonderful one to get me going again. I believe that this is the first time I have actually used the "grass" side of this stamp and I LIKE it! Since my new favorite color is Baja Breeze, I just had to combine it with white to make this card.
Supplies used:
Stamps: Inspired By Nature, Sidekick Sayings (Stampin' UP)
Cardstock: Baja Breeze (Stampin' UP), White (Georgia-Pacific)
Ink: Versamark
Other Supplies: Detail White Embossing Powder Ribbon, Butterfly Punch, Dimensionals, and a heat gun

I've Been Slacking!

Well, slacking is probably not the right word! I've been sick for the last two months with the crud that just wouldn't go away. Thank goodness for good antibiotics and cough syrup and some miracle stuff to clear the sinuses and I'm pretty much back to normal.

THEN, my poor sweet kitty got really sick which was a very expensive few days at the vet. He's doing better now and I'm hoping that 2009 will be a great year for lots of stamping!

Onward and Upward as my boss would say!
