More Pink......

I thought I was a little tired of pink after "pink week" on Splitcoast Stampers, but I discovered this SU Designer Paper today and HAD to make a card with it. Since I'm still trying to get some birthday cards together for my mom, I figured this would be a really quick card. I really like the softness and elegance of this, even though it's a very simple card.
Supplies Used:
Stamps: It's Your Birthday (SU)
Ink: Pretty In Pink
Cardstock: Pink Pirouette (SU), White
Accessories: Cuttlebug, Embossing Folders, Ribbon, Dimensionals, SU DP

Amethyst Birthday Card

I just can't get enough of this "Inspired By Nature" set from Stampin' UP! It is so versatile - you can either use it as a silhouette, or use every color combination you can think of. I used Stampin' UP! markers to color the stamp, sprayed the stamp with a fine mist of water, then stamped the image on watercolor paper. I misted the stamp one more time and stamped this image. Since I am needing some birthday cards, I added the "HB" image and some brads for the finishing touch. This is Sketch #190 from the Splitcoast Stampers site.

Supplies Used:

Stamps: Inspired By Nature, It's Your Birthday (SU)
Ink: Almost Amethyst
Cardstock: Almost Amethyst, White, SU DP, Watercolor Paper
Accessories: Cuttlebug, Embossing Folder, Brads, Dimensionals, Nestibilities

Hershey Chocolate?

I couldn't resist another card using Pink and Chocolate Chip! This card was made using this week's Sketch Challenge on the SplitCoast Stampers website. I just got this designer paper last week and have decided to use it rather than hoard it like I've been doing with most of my paper!

Ink: Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Brads, Button, Corner Punch, Ribbon, Dimensionals

Thinking Pink!

This card was made for the Color Challenge this week, using Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip, and Kiwi Kiss. I usually really struggle with the color challenges, but how could a person go wrong with this one!

Embellished Sky

Happy Easter Art and Mom!

Art, I know you check every day to see if I have uploaded any new cards and then tell mom that there are new ones! Sorry I'm not better about uploading them as I make them....
I didn't make a card all week, but combined three of the week's challenges on this card. Monday's Technique Lover's Challenge was to ink up the negative side of an embossing folder before you run it through the Cuttlebug, and I used Bordering Blue ink with the Script Embossing Folder. Wednesday's Sketch Challenge looked like an awesome one, so I used it as the layout. Saturday's Inspiration Challenge piece was really beautiful and reminded me of blues and ocean themes.....this is what I came up with.
Supplies Used:
Stamps: All Holidays Petal Prints
Ink: Bordering Blue
Cardstock: Bordering Blue, Textured Basic Gray, White
Other Supplies: Twine, Plastic Embellishments, Cuttlebug, Script Embossing Folder, Foam Dots, Distressing Tool

Mostly Krafty

Tuesday's Color Challenge was to create a card using Orchid Opulence, Sage Shadow, and Kraft. Let's just say that Orchid Opulence is not a color I EVER reach for when making a card, so I wanted to use just a touch of it. I really like the look of plain layers and embossed layers of the same cardstock. Although this is a very simple card, I like that there is just a little bit of elegance, too.
Supplies used:
Stamps: Infinite Goodness
Ink: Basic Black
Cardstock: Kraft, Sage Shadow
Other Supplies: Cuttlebug, Textile Texture Embossing Folder, Ribbon, Foam Dots, SU Markers

Ugh...Pigtails!

Oh, I really don't like this card! I love the colors, the layout, the texture.....but it looks like it's wearing pigtails! I was dared to upload it to my gallery on SCS or I probably wouldn't have!
Supplies used:
Stamps: True Friend
Cardstock: Bordering Blue, Night of Navy, Ivory
Ink: Night of Navy
Other Supplies: Punches, Brads, Non-SU DP, Paper Piercing Tool, Cuttlebug, Textile Texture Embossing Folder

Faux Cloisonne?

Well, Faux Cloisonne is a technique that I had never heard of until it was the Technique Lover's Challenge a couple of weeks ago. I thought....Ugh, I don't want to spend the time learning a new technique. I'm too tired. Well, basically you stamp your image on glossy magazine pages that include the colors you want then gold emboss your image. You cut out your embossed images and put them on a darker card stock. My flowers were stamped on the front cover of the most recent Good Housekeeping magazine and the leaves were stamped on the pages that included green bushes. I used foam dots to create some depth and thought it would look even better with a stamped background.
Supplies used:
Stamps: Floral, Natural Beauty, Doodle This, Wonderful Words
Cardstock: Brushed Gold, Always Artichoke
Ink: Always Artichoke, Versamark
Other Supplies: Magazine Pages, Gold Embossing Tinsel, Gold Embossing Powder, Foam Dots, Brads

Dare To Be Fabulous

This card was made for the Color Challenge, which was to make a card using Basic Black, Basic Gray, and Purely Pomegranate. I really like this - it looks much better in real life. It has very crisp lines and is actually quite striking.

Supplies Used:

Stamps: Fabulous Flowers, Give Thanks
Cardstock: Purely Pomegranate, Basic Black, Basic Gray
Ink: Basic Black, Purely Pomegranate, Basic Gray
Other Supplies: Aquapainter, Ribbon, Brads, Punches, Paper Piercing Tool

Pocket Card

This card is one that I made for a Featured Stamper Challenge recently. I felt like making something springy and cheerful, and this is what I came up with. These are always fun to make - the little slider seems to add so much! I'm still trying to use all of my stamp sets before I put them back in the cabinets, and I had never used this set that demonstratators received free from Stampin'UP!

Supplies Used:

Stamps: Time Well Spent
Cardstock: Apricot Appeal, So Saffron DP, White
Ink: So Saffron
Other Supplies: Ribbon, Decorative Staple, Punches, Brads, Foam Dots, Cuttlebug, Swiss Dots Embossing Folder

It's All About The Scraps!

This card was made for a Limited Supplies Challenge where the challenge was to make a card less than 4.25 X 4.25 and use only scraps. Well, this card is 4 X 4, and I used scraps from one of my pads of Designer paper. I really love how it turned out and it was so quick and easy.

This card was made for the Inspiration Challenge that was an Irish Chain Quilt with this shade of green. I'm loving the Swiss Dots Embossing Folder and the "So Many Scallops" stamp set. Stamps: So Many Scallops

Recipe Swap

This is my Recipe Swap for the 6" X 6" swap being done by some of the Challenge Chasers from the Splitcoast Stampers website. This is my favorite soup recipe, but it was one that was really difficult to come up with a design for. I decided that soup weather is in the fall, and made a very simple fall design. There is only one stamp used, Linen, and the rest is either computer generated, stickers, cardstock, or designer paper.

Supplies Used:

Stamps: Linen
Ink: Creamy Caramel
Cardstock: Browns, Ivory
Other Supplies: Ribbon, Stickers, Designer Paper

Doubly Challenging!

This card is a combination of the Color Challenge to use Purely Pomegranate, Wild Wasabi, and So Saffron, and the Sketch Challenge from last week. The color challenges are the most difficult for me, but I will continue to attempt them!

Supplies used:

Stamps: Priceless, Party Punch
Card Stock: White, So Saffron, Purely Pomegranate
Ink: Wild Wasabi, Purely Pomegranate
Other Supplies: So Saffron Designer Paper, Ribbon, Cuttlebug, Textile Texture Embossing Folder, Punches, Foam Dots

Garden Whimsey in Guava

Yet another card using Groovy Guava, this Designer Paper, and the "Garden Whimsy" Stamp set. Since my personal challenge is to use each and every stamp set before I put them back in the cabinets, I'm inking up sets that I haven't used in quite awhile. It feels really good to be justifying those purchases yet again!!!

Supplies Used:

Stamps: Garden Whimsy
Cardstock: White, Groovy Guava, Barely Banana
Ink: Groovy Guava
Other Supplies: Cuttlebug, Floral Fantasy Embossing Folder, Ribbon, Punches, Foam Dots

Groovy Whimsy

Here is another card using the Sale-A-Bration stamp set, "Birthday Whimsy" and more of the designer paper that I have been hoarding! This particular card was made for the Featured Stamper challenge last Sunday.

Supplies Used:

Stamps: Birthday Whimsy
Cardstock: Groovy Guava, White, Barely Banana
Ink: Groovy Guava
Other Supplies: Cuttlebug, Swiss Dots Embossing Folder, Ribbon, Punches, Designer Paper, Foam Dots

Double Whimsy

When a friend and her daughter came over to do some stamping, I moved ALL of my Stampin'UP! sets to the kitchen and dining room for them to look at to decide what they wanted to use. Well, I decided that I needed to USE each set before they would go back into the craft room cabinets! Needless to say, there are still many sets in the kitchen but this is one of the cards I made using two of the sets. I'm also trying to use some of the designer paper I've been stockpiling!
Supplies used:
Stamps: Birthday Whimsy, Garden Whimsy
Cardstock: White, Barely Banana
Ink: Barely Banana, Mellow Moss
Other Supplies: Designer Paper, Paper Piercing Tool, Ribbon, Punches, Foam Dots

Blossoms With Bling!

Well, it seems that I have many stamp sets that I LOVE, but haven't used in a very long time. This card was made with a couple of them - "Blossoms Abound" and "Take Three." I also added a little bling with some Crystal Effects and Dazzling Diamonds.
Supplies used:

Stamps: Blossoms Abound, Take Three

Cardstock: Sage Shadow, White, Almost Amethyst

Ink: Almost Amethyst, Sage Shadow, Lavender Lace

Other Supplies: Punches, Ribbon, Crystal Effects, Dazzling Diamonds, Cuttlebug, Swiss Dots Embossing Folder

Paper: White; Brocade Blue

Ink: Brocade Blue

Other Supplies: Cuttlebug, Swiss Dots Embossing Folder, Ribbon, Tag Punches, Foam Dots

Stamps: Always
Ink: Versamark
Paper: SU Bashful Blue, White Cardstock
Other Supplies: Punches, White Embossing Powder, Ribbon, Cuttlebug, Traffic Jam Embossing Folder, Foam Dots

Stiple Rose

It's really sad that this Stiple Rose stamp has been retired by Stampin'UP! but that's not going to stop me from using it! This card was made for the Limited Supply Challenge on February 29, 2008. The challenge was that we could use one flower stamp with a sentiment optional. No background stamps, designer paper, or Cuttlebug......wow, that was a challenge!
Supplies used:
Stamps: Stiple Rose
Paper: SU True Thyme, Watercolor Paper, White Cardstock
Ink: Basic Black
Other Supplies: SU Re-inkers Perfect Plum and Old Olive, Aquapainter, Foam Dots, Ribbon

Bring On The Music!

Thursday's Ways To Use It Challenge was to make a music themed card. Whoooo Hooooo! I love music and I've been hoarding the perfect designer paper for it! I really like how this "note card" turned out and will probably make an entire gift set for some music-loving person I know. It's very simple and quick, but also has a little big of elegance to it.
Supplies used:
Paper: SU Basic Black, Non-SU Designer Paper, White
Ink: Basic Black
Stamps: SU Lots of Thoughts
Other Supplies: Ribbon, Tag Punches

Dreamy Colors!

The Color Challenges are the most difficult for me because there's always one color that I can't, for the life of me, figure out how to use! This weeks Color Challenge was to use Whisper White, Basic Black, and River Rock on a card. Yipee! A color challenge that I can handle! I thought that these colors would be perfect for a subdued, simple sympathy card. Supplies used:
Stamps: SU Live Your Dream, Aida Cloth, Close As A Memory
Cardstock: SU Basic Black, River Rock, and White
Ink: Basic Black, River Rock
Other Supplies: Corner Punch, Ribbon, Brads

Mixin' It Up!

Monday's Technique Lover's Challenge was to MIX IT UP using designer papers. This card was made using designer paper from K & Company. I was hoping for more of a contrast, but this is how it turned out. Supplies used:
Stamps: SU Garden Silhouettes
Cardstock: SU Chocolate Chip, White Card Stock
Ink: Stampin'UP Markers
Ribbon: Green and Brown from JoAnn's/Michael's
Other Supplies: Brads, Foam Dots, Corner Punch
